Producer/Director Phillip Byrd has been creating award-winning performance television programs for 30 years. He earned a national prime-time Emmy® award for Wolf Trap Presents the Kriov: Swan Lake, and has received numerous Corporation for Public Broadcasting awards, festival awards and regional Emmy awards. Prior to founding Brandenburg Productions, he served as executive producer for performance programming with the Bravo cable network, and worked at public broadcasting stations in Tallahassee, Atlanta and Milwaukee. A trombonist in the Fighting 28th Army Band of Ft. Ord, Calif., and today a member of the Montclair, N.J., Community Band, he holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Denver.
Associate Director and Editor Janet Shapiro had 12 years of experience in the classical recording industry before co-founding Brandenburg Productions. She established the recorded music division of Advent Corporation and held management positions at London, Vanguard and Pro Arte Records. A devoted, if intermittent, choral singer, she sang with Tanglewood Festival Chorus for five seasons, as well as with Dessoff Choirs, New York Choral Society, New Jersey Oratorio Society, and choruses at Harvard and MIT. She holds a B.A. degree in music from Brandeis University.
